The near environment of Quinta da Cerejeira is a very good area for making short and long walks, of which we have documentation available. Also the sportive ATB'er will encounter many possibilities.
Ferreira do Zęzere, at about 1,5 km of the Quinta, has a nice centre where and you will find all kind of services you may need. A big, traditional market is held every Monday. On Saturday there is a smaller market with vegetables, fruit and fish.

The construction of the Castelo do Bode dam in 1950 created one of the biggest inner lakes in Europe, with a length of about 59 km. You can find many quiet beaches from 5 km of the Quinta, where you can swim our practice other forms of water-sports. Those who want to practise sport-fishing will find their place to throw out the fishing-rod as well.
The municipality of Ferreira do Zęzere consists of a number of small authentic villages. In the picturesque medieval Dornes and in the pre-romantic Castro de S. Petro you can enjoy the panoramic views over the Zęzere and its' surroundings.
During the summer months, you will be a welcome guest at the various village festivals.
A tour along the world-famous cloisters of Tomar (15 km), Batalha (70 km) en Alcobaça (90 km) will show you the rich cultural-historical places of Portugal. Also in combination with a visit to the famous sanctuary of Fátima.
The Atlantic coast of central Portugal has got miles of sandy beaches and some nice seaside towns (Nazaré, Săo Martinho do Porto). Go out for a day and enjoy the huge waves (but be careful with the dangerous streams!)
Visit the cities Lisbon (150 km), Porto (190 km) and the city of Coimbra (70 km) with one of the oldest universities in Europe.
A day tour will bring you in the Serra da Estrela, Portugal's most beautiful and highest mountain area (1991 m). For those who enjoy mountain landscapes with splendid views, the Serra da Estrela is worth a visit.
