Creative
The centre of Portugal is one of the most versatile regions of Southern Europe: nice old towns and small villages, with the green hills and a lot of small rivers. A source of inspiration for those who wants to enjoy the art and culture and for the creative spirit.
At our Quinta you have a lot of possibilities to be active yourself. We have an little atelier available with facilities to clay, to mosaic, to draw or to paint. Our guests can make use of it.
During the summer of 2008 some students of the Academia de Belas-Artes in Lisbon have organized some workshops at Quinta da Cerejeira. We hope they will come back in future!
You can also go to Arte/Factos in Dornes, a small village at the border of the river Zêzere, 10 km from Ferreira do Zêzere. Shop with Arte and Artesanato annex bar/café.

Music
Sometimes we have a traditional music band from the region with their typical folk music. In summer outside at our terrace, in other times inside in our adega.
Using traditional portuguese instruments, like the guitarra portuguesa (the 12-stringed guitar used in the fados), the cavaquinho, the mandolim, acustic guitar and percurssion, like the square doufe, the groups lets you hear popular songs.
The lyrics of this songs have their direct roots in the local population, and date from a long forgotten past. The typically portuguese fado, as well as other, more recent songs from people like the protest singer José Afonso, will end the evening.
We also have our own guests who make music. You can play or sing with them or just listen.
Excursions
Visit to a wine farm: Ferreira do Zêzere is at the nothern border of the Ribatejo. Since the Romans people produces wine in this region. In 2000 the Ribatejo got the prestigieus Portuguese wine certification DOC (Denominação de Origem Controlada). We visit an old wine farm, get a round tour, and taste the wine.
Sport & Games
In and around the swimming pool, at the table tennis and the jeu de boule, with a bal or something else: sport and games are part of a nice holiday in a good atmosphere. Or jsut a game in the adega or at the terrace. Many possibilities at Quinta da Cerejeira.
Also, our theater evenings and the Life Stratego have become famous.
... And if their is a soccer championship, we are going to watch!
